Question / Help [HELP] - Streaming Noob, having little success. Suggestions?

I've tried various settings on OBS but I'm still having issues when starting to stream, these include occasional 'jumps', audio being out of sync, audio looping, mic latency and general issues with quality.

I've tried various settings I've seen here and tried the settings suggested by the estimator, I must be doing something wrong!

Turning to the community for a helping hand.

System Specs:
Operating System
Windows 8 64-bit
CPU
Intel Core i5 4670 @ 3.40GHz
Haswell 22nm Technology
RAM
16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 800MHz
Motherboard
ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. B85M-G (SOCKET 1150)
Graphics
2048MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 (EVGA)
Hard Drives
112GB Samsung SSD 840 Series (SSD)
932GB Seagate ST1000DM003-9YN162 (SATA)
Audio
Realtek High Definition Audio

Internet Connection is an average of DL: 70-100 mbps and UL: 8-12 mbps.

Any suggestions on settings much appreciated!

Cheers

From your PC specs i dont see a reason to have issues with streaming. U need to give us a log file from one of such problematic streams:

How to post a .log file

Okay!

I have attached a log from the last time I was trying a stream, I believe on that one I was using settings from the estimator and was being told there was still some skipping. I was also told when I spoke that it seemed to be lagging, I couldn't check this by opening my stream as this was causing a loop and it all turned ugly.

Many thanks for the quick response and help!

Cheers

i'm not so good with the network stuff but i do have a remark about your hardware setup.
Especially:

Intel Core i5 4670 @ 3.40GHz
Haswell 22nm Technology
RAM
16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 800MHz
Motherboard
ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. B85M-G (SOCKET 1150)

I'm curious if that memory is realy in that system... if so; it limits you system performance
That mobo/cpu combo at least needs/wants 1066mhz memory and preferrably 1600mhz memory to unlock the full potential of that combo. (be adviced, changing this can/will increase also you system temperatures)

But for advice on your stream im not experienced enough to give any comment i'm affraid.

Hi there,

Thanks for your interest in helping out!

I believe as it's DDR (Double Data Rate) the speed is in fact 1600mhz. I'm not a huge techy but I believe that to be the case. I reported this from the software Speccy perhaps that's why it's displayed in that way!

Thanks again!

Well it depends of the reporting tool indeed.
When i see "@ 800mhz" i normally assume that it actually runs on 800mhz.

Anyhow, if its on 1600 then i have say'd nothing ofcourse and its a verry nice system.

Thanks! It was a Scan 3XS system with a few adjustments. Had to upgrade the cooling somewhat as it came with only stock CPU and one front fan!

Read through my guide (signature) for some general pointers that may help.

its running 2 8 gig 1600mhz in dual channel thats why its showing 800mhz

i'd also drop the bitrate to around 3000 with cbr on instead of 4000 or even your tries to go with over 9000

Ahh right! Yeah I think i've got the settings better now. The only thing I'm paranoid about is there there is a delay when I'm speaking into my mic? Is this just always the case? The video and voice seem slightly behind.

so you are streaming with a webcam on? or how do you recognize an offset of your mic? or is it actually the whole audio which is behind the video?

theres an mic time offset in the audio settings

and for everything else about audio its in the advanced settings
