Question / Help Help stream settings please

Hello I want to stream some random plays.
I have a core i7 3.8 ghz with 8gb ram. HD5900 series gfx card.
My internet connection is slow, 3000kbps download and 1000 kbps upload. This is how ever the 2nd biggest residential line available, the biggest is a tad expensive.

I dont want un realisticly high qaulity, I just want the blurry screen to be gone when I move my camera.
Is 360p or 480p youtube qaulity realstic on my connection if I tweak my settings?

If so, please help me achieve this, tell me some things I can try change please.

In game twitch (company of heroes 2) and websites (speedtest and testmynet) tell me my upload rate is (optimal?) at 613kbps.

I want to play, and stream audio / video at the same time

Please give me suggestions, this is my 1st time I try and stream.
Lower resolutions, higher CPU settings, what ever! :)

you didnt even try to downscale to either 360p or 480p... but neither 1080p nor 720p is going to look in any way decent.


you could try 360p with your current bitrate and 30 fps and try using the medium preset maybe even slow preset since your sandy bridge i7 isnt the worse but dont expect too much

Oh ok, I didnt realise I have to downscale. Sorry im new at this. Resolution downscale : 852x480. Thats the setting yea? Ill try it in 5 minutes and edit this with my result. Thank you.

The Quality is really bad but atleast it doesnt blur when I move the screen.

Use the downscale multiplier instead of just setting the custom resolution lower, and you'll have better results.

Its very fuzzy. What is CBR / quality balance? I cant see a difference between 0 and 10 or CBR on (default is 8)

Anything for some more clarity or is that only the downscale option that affects clarity?

You can play with either the bicubic or lanczos filters, but downscaling will always add some blurring. CBR and Quality Balance are mutually exclusive, you use one or the other. Most streaming sites these days require CBR, though.

Changing my CPU preset to slower, along with 480p, pleased my wants.
The filters tab you mentioned are only available for more than 480 downscales.
