Hi all,

I am experiencing slow frame rates whilst streaming. The game itself when playing (overwatch) is very jittery as is the stream. I wouldn't expect this with the spec laptop I have. I have a monitor attached to the laptop via HDMI and have set both laptop and desktop screen to 1080p. The laptop is usually set to 4k. For my internet speed I usually get around 220 mb download and 8-10 upload. I am always connected via an ethernet cable when online. Any help would be really appreciated as the stream is really suffering.

Many thanks and hope everyone had a nice Christmas :D

Hi Harold and thanks for trying to help. I have changed back to direct3d. I am not even streaming yet and am getting high frame drops even at times down to around 5. Should I be getting this before streaming?? Doesn't seem to have fixed the issue :S

I have no idea :S I am not a technical person. I guess I would just be looking online to see how to. If I changed these settings could is disrupt the system in general? What would I be needing to change the setting to if I am able to find out how to?

So is it something that you think could be changed? What is the issue in a dumbed down explanation???

Just been looking at the difference between x8 and x16 for the graphics cards and it says that performance differences would be minimal so are you sure this is the cause...??? Can anyone else help with this if Harold is out of ideas??

With the above in mind, I'm sure that the laptop should be able to outperform my old desktop that it has replaced. It has a 2gb GPU that now seems to be able to outperform the new one when it comes to OBS. Are we sure this is the issue?? It just seems illogical to me that if it is performing so bad.

This one is a little strange as the spec is good enough to run it, but the log shows a different result. If as Harold has suggested it can't be run out of 8x pic-e mode which for me is a little disappointing from AW then is there a possibility that OBS is running this scaling / rendering via the integrated Intel(R) HD Graphics 530 gpu.

Is there anything you all can think of that I can proactively do to find out any of this information??

Only to disable the on-board GPU but this isn't always possible. I know the AW M17 had an issue with OBS a while ago were OBS wouldn't let go of the integrated gpu but this was in OBS classic. If you can't change the mode from 8x to 16x as suggested then also try a lower resolution say 720p and see if that works if it does then you know at this time its something limiting the bandwidth available hence the lag.
