Hello,

I recently started using Twitch.TV and streaming for some friends and helping others.

Upon using Twitch.TV with OBS it was all fine beside one game, BF4. I changed some settings and BF4 worked fine then because before it was jittery and laggy on low FPS. Turn OBS off and it was fine.
I changed the settings and the game was playable but then people where complaining that the stream was very laggy.

I then changed game and the quality was laggy and really distort.

CPU: AMD FX8350 Vishera

GPU: XFX 7950 3GB x2 Crossfire X

So as you can see, I have a very decent machine capable of all games, but I am not sure what has gone wrong.
I have now removed OBS from my machine and I will do a reinstall when I find out the best settings, so I ask you all.

What would you suggest to be the best settings for me to use with bitrate, quality etc because I would like stream but allow people to view it without a problem. Even though there never used to be.

Something I noticed, when I streamed BF4 and Warthunder and people where complaining it was really laggy and bad, I loaded my iPad onto my stream and it was fine, and I could see everything with no problem so I am not sure what that means.

Those vods both look fine to me. If others complain that it's laggy, while you can watch it without problems, then it's a problem on their end.

For connection issues, you can check whether the OBS window indicates any dropped frames as you are streaming. Then for pc performance issues, you could potentially see the message taking too long to encode. This means you should lower your stream settings (resolution, encoder preset). If the capture method you are using isn't quick enough, then you might be getting late frames, this would become apparent from a log file, as Tidy said (full link: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=97).

But really, if one person can view on Twitch it without problems, then it's not an issue on your end, but an issue in the connection between Twitch and the other viewers.

A few people joined even friends saying it was laggy.

When I put my iPad on my desk and loaded my stream via searching my name. The stream was fine on my side.

Isit possible you could tell me a decent setup that I can stream all my games without an issue?

Bitrate I do the 720p 1800 to 2500 I downscale to 1.50 the 1280 settings. The x264 I set as ultra fast. Is that all good?

Hey dude, ultrafast will cause the blockyness. But the log will show if there are any late frames etc... which would explain any skipping etc

Skip to far in where I am on BF4. You will see the blocky which you say is because of ultra fast?

Just lowered to very fast to see if that helps the blocky screen stuff. Here is my last two logs from OBS which are today:

Debating on changing the FPS from 30 to 60. The game is ALL on lowest settings for streaming because it is the only way it plays with skipping and juddering.
