So I have a total of 3 webcams. 2 are the same;Logitech HD Webcam C270, and a Logitech HD Pro Webcam C920.

I seem to be able to display the C920 and one of the C270 webcams. But when I try to display both C270 one doesn't display. The edit box is there so its still there but just doesn't show up.

Im thinking this is an issue more so that it cant display two of the same webcams.
Any help?

Unsure if I need to show a log file but I will if need be. I will admit I dont quite understand all thats in it

A lot of non-commercial webcams do not have unique IDs when it comes to directshow which means that the last webcam plugged in (or the last one detected after a restart) is the one that will show up. This is because they use the exact same deviceID as stated before. using different webcams or buying commercial cams will usually allow a unique ID for each cam which will aid in detection for multiple identical devices.

I will try this. I believe you can change the device ID through registry. Ill let you know the result. What is a commercial webcam?

So i changed the device name with no real resolve. Im not exactly sure but it seems like if i put one of the C270s on a different usb port instead of the hub im using it picks up both. The hub has the other C270 and the C920. dont really understand why but when I put both C270s on the hub it only sees one. Device IDs are different thanks to registry changes and the usb hub im using has its own power supply so it can be overbearing the port as far as I know. The work around works but realistically i would love to have both devices on the hub. any ideas?

Its a driver issue that isn't an issue for 99% of owners so good luck with getting it fixed. I'm just being honest. glad you found a work-a-round though

I would disagree as im having the issue on different laptops. the webcams all recognize fine outside of OBS. I managed to find this work around on one laptop not the other. Again the bounding box shows the web cam is there and the light is also on the webcam as if its in use.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jtyn27nTfsE&feature=youtu.be Don't use usb hubs. Use ports directly on the motherboard.

This video is FIVE c920s on one computer.
nice are you using a desktop or laptop. I think my laptop only has one port on the motherboard. I managed to get it to work. Seems i had to unplug and plug the webcams not working and they eventually took. So not I have 2 c270 and a c920 working through this method. Funny thing is now I cant get the integrated laptop webcam going. For now im happy with this setup. Cant explain why unplugging works. My logitech control software shows all 3 connected. I
After getting it to work i wanted to see if the integrated laptop webcam would pick up. Thats another issue and not one that i care to look into right now. Thanks for the video harold. Seems i need to get a desktop machine for more power :)

Desktop, but the thing is that, at least on windows, the problem comes from how windows handles usb device ids on hubs. Not factoring in the bandwidth problems caused by how windows does the usb 2.0 to 3.0 conversion
