Whenever I try to install OBS, it tells me this: "Open Broadcaster Software requires the Windows Vista Platform Update. Would you like to download it?". I click yes, and it brings me to the Microsoft site, which I download the update installer. When I attempt to update, it tells me that my computer doesn't need the update and closes, therefore, I continually receive the error about the "Vista Platform Update". Help?

You can try searching for the Vista Platform Update on Microsoft, maybe you need the 64 bit version.

If you continue to get the error, you can download the binaries and install it manually, it's possible the pre-requisite check is failing.

Please be advised that for some people the Platform Update has issues installing properly. Although that issue can be resolved as well.
