Help me understand why obs is struggling with Hogwarts Legacy

I'm new to recording videos, I have so far done 95 videos that were fine with no issues. then I tried recording hogwarts legacy. No matter what settings I use I keep getting encoder overloadead errors with nvenc 264. I tried recording on the CPU since it hovers at 20% usage but it would drop frames all over the place, like 50% dropped, so I went back to nvenc. I keep lowering my obs and game settings but the issue just won't go away, at random times while the game is playing well with no issues OBS encoder will overload and start dropping frames all over the place. I did a couple of recordings and I had to stop both of them because OBS started dropping frames and wouldn't recover, had to stop the recording and restart OBS. I tried going through the log myself to understand what's happening but I really can't quite grasp it yet. Not being able to use afterburner since OBS crashes instantly if I have it on isn't helping either since I can't see what's happening in terms of utilization across my system when the issue appears.

I'm playing on a RTX 3070, 5600x, 16GB ram.

If I'm not running obs the game is a breeze for my system. With my current settings, without recording, I get locked 60 fps with GPU hovering at 50% usage and the CPU at 20% usage, and it feels very smooth. I know it's something with the game, I'm not saying it's obs' fault, I've recorded 95 videos with no issue after all. I'm just trying to figure a way how to improve the situation.

Thank you in advance for your time.

Probably is an issue within the game itself.

Your using monitor capture, which may present this issues on not so well optimized games. Try using game capture or window capture. (first remove the monitor capture)
Restart your computer, not just turn off and on.

Will try, thought I'm only using display capture because OBS would instantly crash(not responding) when launched with game capture in a scene. However that might have been caused by afterburner since not using that fixed some other crashes too, so I'll give it another go. thank you for your reply

You need to read all their tweets on it plus understand that you are also running OBS at the same time
Try limiting your FPS to 60 or 30 Whichever is the lowest you see in-game If you get lower than that, reduce the settings

I think a lot of the problems in Hogwarts Legacy are related to Denuvo 17. I've seen this post a few times in gaming news.
Denuvo V17 added hardware limitations that check game files every 10-15 minutes, which causes FPS and performance to drop. An additional load on the processor by 15-20 percent is added. The load on memory and SSD increases slightly, but on the HDD, due to its speed of 7200 rpm, the game simply stutters, FPS drops, due to the fact that the game itself is running and the hard drive is also checked by protection . And yes, if you change something in the debugger (they break games), some code to improve or remove at least, this game triggers with an error crashes because you need to break all the code, in fact VmProtect and triggers in DENUVO itself!
