hello, i would love to stream a few ps3/pc games but i know it's gonna be hard as hell cause of the crappy DSL we got in italy

this is my computer:
i7 920 2.66ghz
6gb ram
gtx 760 2gb ram
asus p6t

and this is, unfortunately, my DSL values

All you have to do is go into OBS settings and try the ones it suggested and then try to stream with it. If its not what you like you can tinker with the settings, like a lower preset if your CPU can handle it.

As I said above your upload is going to hurt your quality of your stream pretty badly, I have 1.5Mb-2 upload and my quality isn't that great.

well i guess i should forget about streaming, i created a custom game on LoL and my ping was 300 when i normally play with 30 lol!

You could probably try a 360P stream and lower the bitrate a little more may 200. Personally I've been told that the set bitrate should be everything from 90% of your total, 75% and everything in between. But what works for me is about 50%, otherwise my latency skyrockets and the stream/game quality nosedives.

If you could upgrade your internet it would help a ton.

how do i set 360p? i set 200 bitrate, what about buffer?

i wish i could upgrade my internet, but it's one of the best "common dsl" here in italy lol. the "bestest" is fiber but it costs a lot and it doesn't reach everywhere...

I understand completely, where I'm located the best I can get is 50/5 but the price is outrageous and the likelihood of getting close to that is unlikely. I'm not remotely close to being able to get fibre yet.

Anyway go to your Settings>Encoding and I would check the Use CBR and enable CBR padding. After you finish with the bitrate then go to the Video tab and downscale your reso to 360P. Like for me it would be 576x360 but I run on a 16:10 monitor for the moment.

thanks :) i'm running 480x300 now lol!

i tried the OBS estimator and this is what it said

CPU Advice

Set FPS to 30

Game Advice

A bitrate around 2000-3000 is sufficient for RTS and other low motion games
Use game capture if possible for maximum performance.
Use window capture with Aero enabled if game capture is unavailable.

Network Advice

Due to your low upload speed, aim for a low resolution such as 480p
Considering lowering your buffer size and/or bitrate if you experience in-game latency
Enable CFR for compatibility with streaming services
Enable CBR for improved stream stability
Recommended max bitrate: 714
Recommended buffer size: 428

i tried using these settings but i got higher ping when playing and fps issues, how should it set them to make it a little better?
