I am grateful for any help anyone can give me. I am very new to this kind of stuff. I do a live facebook show once a week, and up until now we have been using our iphones to stream, but the video quality has been poor and we are getting enough viewers that we were ready to do some upgrading. After reading around the internet I settled on a Canon Vixia HFR800 camera, the Elgato Cam Link and OBS software. I have been doing several test videos and I have had little problems that I have been able to overcome. I had an audio lag problem that I was able to fix, but now the problem that I can't seem to remedy is that my video is bad choppy, like pretty much at a standstill. The audio runs along smoothly but the video is just unviewable. I will try and give you a run down of some of my settings:
Under output
Output mode: advanced
encoder x264
rescale output is unchecked
rate control cbr
bitrate 2500
use custom buffer size is unchecked
keyframe interval 0
cpu usage very fast
under video
base canvas resolution 1280 x 720
output resolution 711 x 400
downscale filter bicubic
common fps 30
the properties for my camlink video capture device are as follows
device cam link
resolution/fps custom
resolution 1920/1080
fps match output fps (autoselect: 59.94 NTSC)
video format any
yuv color space default
yuv color range partial
buffering auto detect
audio output mode capture audio only
I am pretty new to all of this, as I am sure you can tell. Any help you can offer me on how to fix this choppy video issue would be greatly appreciated. These setting I just gave are as things stand right now. I had my base resolution set to 1080 and the settings in my camera at 1080 and I bumped them down to 720 to see if that might help. I also had my common fps set to 59.94 and put it to 30 to see if that might help and it didn't.
