Hello,

i've been streaming at 1680x1050 (30 fps), 3000 bitrate, which i considered to be 720p.

However, whenever i check my stream, the quality (or the lower right corner indication) will differ from 1050p+ (which i don't understand how it got to that), and stream 'breaks a bit', and sometimes it will be at 'best', very smooth looking.

Shouldn't it be default at 720p? or am i messing the resolutions completely?

http://www.twitch.tv/hugorpt streaming in case you can take a look at that.

thanks in advance,

720p means the resolution of the video is 720 pixels high. 1050p means 1050 pixels high.

You are streaming at 1680x1050, meaning a width of 1680 pixels and a height of 1050 pixels. Thus, 1050p.

If you want to stream at 720p, you have to set your streaming resolution to a resolution that is 720 pixels high, such as 1280x720 (though that is a different aspect ratio than 1680x1050). You can manually change the base resolution, use try a downscale.

Chances are it will tell you to downscale to 1280x800, since that is a 16:10 aspect ratio like 1680x1050. If you want to stream at a full 16:9 resolution (such as 1280x720) you will have black bars on the side due to the difference in aspect ratio.
