Question / Help Help, I can't see the video

Hi, I have recently installed OBS and managed to work out how to stream a video (MP4) via a live stream to YouTube. But I can't see the video, it's just a black screen?
I'm not very technical and also what is a "log file".
I've tried searching the web for an answer but nothing seems to apply to streaming a video. I don't want to record via OBS, just stream a video.
Can anyone help?

Why are you trying to stream a recording to youtube and not just upload it?

Because I've heard that you can stream videos and thought that they are suppose to be better, YouTube is encouraging live streaming and bein on camera is not for me.

The quality of streaming a video through OBS to youtube will be worse than uploading the same recording.

Youtube isn't going out of its way to encourage live streaming either.
