Question / Help HELP, frames drop to <60 when OBS is running

Hi all,

Could someone please help me here? I play fortnite mostly and my FPS is typically ~155 (max monitor can handle) and even if I go to testufo.com my frames are at 155, but as soon as I open OBS (not even streaming just open the application itself) they immediately drop to 60. I have no idea how or why this is happening. I've turned off all the game captures/modes and it is still an issue. Can someone please help me with this, it seemed to have just started recently but I could be wrong and maybe it's been happening for over a month, but feels like it was just the past week or so. I play on a 1440p monitor at 155 if that helps at all and I've attached the most recent log that I opened just for diagnosis purposes to this post. Any/all help would be much appreciated!

I also just noticed the issue is only when OBS is visibly showing. If I minimize OBS it seems to not be an issue, any ideas why this is happening?

Another thing I've noticed is the Disk in full (Approx.) reads -50000 Hours, -14 Minutes and I have no idea why that is either. Then it will randomly bounce back to the correct reading.

Hey Rich thanks for the response. My one monitor is a 144 (155 OC) and the other is only 60 (75 OC) so unfortunately I wouldn't want to do that. Is there a way around this?

Running the game in exclusive fullscreen mode will avoid the FPS drop.

It doesn't seem to help, whenever OBS is closed the game runs smoothly, when it's open theres a noticeable FPS drop, even with the game in fullscreen mode. I don't know if there's any type of logs or screenshots I could send to help diagnose this, but it's tough to play with OBS open so most of the time now I have to close it to have a smooth game.
