Question / Help help for a streaming noob

Hey there,

I am pretty new to streaming (tried it 3 years ago, back then everything was fine) and I don't find my mistakes in getting it done.

I tested some settings, network uplink is fine and without any big problems. Biggest problem is that I can't stream 720p@60fps nor 1080p@30fps with my i7 4770k. Rest of the (current) setup is: 16GB DDR3 and a RX 470 (that will be replaced), playing in native 1440p@144hz.

The RX 470 will be replaced by an 1080ti by the end of the week, but I don't know if this will impact streaming.

Is there any way to go with the 4770k or do I need to upgrade the CPU?

Thanks for any information!

4770k still works pretty great. Set the best settings you can come up with yourself, then do a 5 minute or longer test stream of high action content, and post the OBS log file and link to the VOD for that stream.

Tomorrow my 1080ti should arrive - I'll do a test stream and post the log file.

Can you somehow use the power of the 1080ti to help the cpu?

You can use NVEnc for encoding instead of the software-based x264. Doing that is better for recording than for streaming though.

I had a i7 4790K and some games were hard to stream at 720p 60fps. Depends on the game, since some games use cpu differently.
I'm on Ryzen now, couldn't be happier.
