I am having a hard time getting the right settings to my stream such as:

  • audio keep re-looping the music or any sound it picks up.
  • my mic is very very low no one can hear me. i've tested the sound too when i view my own stream. i tried messing with the audio settings but it gives static and the sound keeps re-looping so I'm hearing what i played or said over and over again
  • my native resolution is 1280x1024. i have no idea what resolution i should be using or downscale option. i dont know if should set the resolution to 16:9 since a lot of people uses that aspect already or stick to my 5:4.

My computer specs:
  • i7-4770k @ 3.5ghz
  • geforce gtx 550ti 1gb GPU
  • 8gb ram
Internet connection:

The most common reason for looping audio is watching your own stream. OBS is recording your system audio, and will record the audio coming out of your browser too. Be sure to mute the Twitch video player.

If your native resolution is 1280x1024 and that's what your game runs at then that should be your base resolution. Since your upload bandwidth is so limited, you should just downscale until you're happy with how the video looks.

Check that the mic volume is set properly in Windows by right-clicking on the speaker icon next to your clock and selecting Recording Devices. Try turning up the volume there, and if you have a mic boost option you may need to enable it as well. If none of that is sufficient then the only other option I can think of would be the mic/aux boost in OBS under Settings > Audio, though that's the last thing you should try.

As far as your webcam, make sure you've installed the latest drivers and software for it, and add it as a video capture device to the 32-bit version of OBS instead of the 64-bit version if that's what you're using.

should i set the mic boost to +30.0dB?

When i set it to 30dB there are alot of white noise when i view my stream. If i set the mic boost to 0 i cannot hear myself.

On the obs setting i checked the force microphone/auxiliary to mono to see if it boost my mic but it doesn't seem to do anything.

If i set the OBS mic/aux to a higher # the white noise becomes more noticeable.

I set the audio device in OBS setting to default as well

There is no "perfect" setting that works for every system, you'll have to experiment to see what works best. You might try a combination of enabling the +30 dB boost and lowering the mic's volume slider a bit. If you get a lot of white noise for your mic then that may just be an issue with the mic itself; sometimes your onboard sound will have an option for noise cancelling/reduction that can help with this sort of problem.
