First of all, hi. Complete newb here. However, I have had some success with OBS in the past and am trying to recapture that streaming sweet spot.
I do love the program and am grateful for its existence.
My myriad problems:
I have a on old pc…at least 5 years and it doesn’t even have a dedicated GPU. But, as I say, I have gotten it to work before. I’ve looked around these forums, but the age and spec of my machine means there’s little to go on in terms of thread history. I wish I could afford a higher spec system, but I can’t at the moment. Sorry guys.
I’m not looking for crystal sharp resolution. My main focus is sound, but do I need visuals too.
I also don’t need super high FPS. My streams are DJ videos, and not the quickfire DMC juggling type.
I’ve recorded as low as 20 fps and it looks fine.
My issues in practical terms:
My base res is 1280x720, Lanczos scaling. I am happy to go down to 480p to alleviate my issues. I both record and stream at 720p. If it takes the pressure off my pc, I could just stream, as the video will probably be saved by YouTube. I use chroma key, which seems to work fine, but I may be able to reduce some of the layers in OBS.
My issues are; I get quite a bit of frame drop/hitch/freeze, when I livestream. I also have a problem with sound sync. If I just record with a delay of 250ms, that locks fine. But when streaming, the delay seems way beyond the bounds of OBS’s sound delay capabilities. I wondered if it was because of YouTube transcoding to 30fps.
I am using:
AMD Radeon A10-6700 APU with Radeon HD graphics. (AMD Radeon HD 8670D + HD 7000 Dual graphics).
CPU Speed: 3693MHz
Physical Cores: 2, Logical Cores: 4
Physical Memory: 7358MB Total, 6180MB Free
Dedicated VRAM: 1829244928
Shared VRAM: 3623878656
My available upload speed is about 6.3mbps.
Samsung Galaxy running DroidCam.
I go 30 fps, keyframe interval set to 1.
Lanczos, 36 samples.
Encoder: x264
CBR
2750 Kbps
1 audio track
I do not have 'Enforce streaming service encoder settings' selcted
CPU usage = Superfast. PC doesn't 'sound' like it's struggling LOL
Recording type standard
To MP4
No replay buffer
Process priority normal
Direct 3D 11
NV12
601
partial
Selected 'Dynamically change bitrate to manage congestion'
Once again, thanks to anyone who read this, and I guess I don’t expect miracles.
I am sorry if I’ve annoyed you at any stage of this. It seems to be frightfully frustrating for those in the know to have to deal with idiots like me.
Any help, gratefully received.
