Question / Help HDPVR2, OBS, ArcSoft

Does anyone here have any experience of using the HDPVR2 with OBS?

Quick outline of my dilemma:

1. Xsplit can direct capture from the HDPVR2 which results in a very nice "crisp" image.
2. OBS cannot direct capture so I am using window capture via the HDPVR2 ArcSoft software. Even in fullsscreen the ArcSoft capture on screen is just a little "blurry" - not as sharp or clear as the Xsplit capture.

Is there anything that can be done to resolve this or is this simply an issue with window capturing?

Appreciate any feedback or tips anyone has.

Unfortunately, no. OBS doesn't have support for decosing USB 2.0 boxes yet unless the manufacturer provides a decided directshow device, which HD PVR does not. It's a feature that should be coming as part of the OBS refactor but that will not be for a few months. For now you have to capture the Hauppauge software window.

The only way I have found to do it, is to get the HDPVR window to a larger size (ie larger than 1280x720) - capture that, then make it smaller... its only slightly more crisp - but at the moment thats the best I have found it :)
