HDMI capture from an HDbT extender

I have no issue using OBS via my Magwell HDMI to USB capture device to capture and broadcast HDMI content. However now I'm trying to broadcast scoreboard data. Because the distance is great we are using a GoFanco HDMI to HDbT gigabit ethernet transceiver. The GoFanco converts the HDMI to Ethernet packets that get routed over the network. If I plug in a TV/monitor with HDMI input I get a perfect picture at my destination (just static score board info, not moving video). But when I plug it into my capture card, OBS gets nothing.
Again when the capture device is directly connected with a 6 foot HDMI cable, OBS works fine. But when I connect the HDMI over Ethernet extender it doesn't work (though a regular monitor does work.)
Any clues?

Does the software that came with the capture device display the scoreboard when using the transceiver?

Just to close this out. As qhobbes mentioned, the USB capture card also does NOT display it, so not an OBS issue. We purchased a different HDMI over IP extender from PWAY on amazon and it works perfectly.
