HDMI Audio input

I'm trying to digitize some old analog microcassettes. I've got the headset jack of the microcassette player plugged into a GANA AV2HDMI converter (Basically and analog to HDMI converter). I'm plugging the HDMI output of the GANA box into my PC.

Can OBS recognize the HDMI input and record the audio coming in? How do I do that. I can't seem to find where to set HDMI as an input??

All PC/Laptop graphics hardware is hdmi output only. You cannot read anything from it. To read signals from a hdmi connection, you need to obtain a hdmi capture device.

Does your PC have an audio line in 3.5mm jack? Sometimes this is a blue coloured port.

One option for you is to plug the audio cassette headphone jack (assuming its a 3.5mm jack?) into the 3.5mm line in jack on your pc using a standard 3.5mm to 3.5mm audio cable. This will allow you to capture the audio.
