I am a small streamer and i use a webcam. I have my LIVE scene with my webcam in the corner and a close up scene where my webcam is the entirety of your screen. I really want to make another scene where my webcam fills the entire scene again, but mess with the colors of the webcam so it looks like im the hulk and im angry!!!

I also had ideas that i could zoom in my webcam so you just see my mouth and i could put the webcam source overtop of images of donald trump to make it look like he was talking but obviously its all for comical reasons!!

I have done some research and it seems as tho when you "paste as reference" it saves all filter changes across all scenes.... But it wont let me do the other way its greyed out. Im sure someone has found a work around for this? Or do i need a 2nd webcam to just make this problem way easier?

thanks in advance!

Try downloading Xaymar's StreamEffects plugin pack. It includes a 'Source Mirror' source type which could do what you want, allowing you to duplicate the webcam source.

If you'd rather not, you can create a new 'holder' Scene, add only your webcam to it, then add that Scene as a Source in another scene and apply whatever filters you want to the Scene instead.

As far as the face-overlay, just take a picture you want to use, import it into GIMP/Photoshop/whatever as a layer, have no background, and erase the part you want so the checkerboard is showing through. Then save it as a PNG, which allows transparency. Then you can just add the PNG to your scene as an image source, and have it be above your webcam. Position as you like.

Instead of using a separate scene, you could also instead use a group that just contains the webcam source, then apply your separate filters to the group.

Damn bro you are way smarter then me. Im gonna try this tommorrow but even reading your reply made my brain hurt. Id pay for a 1v1 lesson from you :P

The only problem with doing it as a Group is that you can only use Groups in a single scene; if you use a Holder-scene, it can be added identically to multiple scenes.

One trick I'd used in the past was a duplicated scene, and set the modified camera up in the second scene. Then used a slow Fade to slowly turn green (and transparent with some bubbles, as I was doing it for Luigi's Mansion 3). Having it as a holder-scene let me use it in all my other scenes without having to set it up over and over and over, which is kind of a pain. If it's a one-off though, the Group method works fine. :)
