Question / Help Having problems when streaming wow

Hey, first of all I want to thank OBSProject and its staff for making this kind program. Keep fixing and updating program as long as possible. If there is any way to give support (donations etc) then tell me :)

When I am streaming, quality of the stream seems to be alright but its lags/freezes for some people. Is it because my stream settings are too high or because ''viewer'' has too slow internet speed? If i remember correct someone from this forum mentioned that if you are streaming with 2000 bitrate the viewer needs 2Mb/s internet speed.

Also second problem is that when I am streaming, my game feels ''choppy'', like it is close 20fps but really its 70fps. Any way to solve this issue? One player said that I should stream with Fullscreen mode, not Windowed (Fullscreen). I doubt that will solve issue but I could try it out later today.

So far what I have been trying to do is changing stream fps (30,40,50,60) but everything gives same ''choppy'' result. At this moment fps has been set to 60.

Also I am using Win8, so maybe software has anything to do with this problem?

Anyways if you have time, check my vods from my stream to see what I am talking about. Thank you in advance :)

Well from looking at this log so far, i can tell your streaming 1080p 60fps which is very hard on your system and maybe this is the cause of the problem, i would say you should try 720p 60fps and then post again with a log file.

Yeah, what Xaraa said. While your CPU is definitely capable of handling streaming at that resolution, your video card is quite low end, and OBS does a lot of work on the video card itself.

Thank you for fast reply, wasn't aware that was streaming 1080p. Also checked program settings but wasn't able to find anywhere to adjust to 720p?

In the Video options, you can change the base resolution to 1280x720 and scale things inside your frame, or set the base resolution to 1920x1080 and then use the Downscale option to go to 1280x720.

paibox

You can either use the "Resolution Downscale" option in the "Video" section of the settings (pick 1.50 for 1280x720) or change the base resolution in the very same section of the settings to 1280x720. If you change the base resolution, you will need to resize any sources you have left over in your old scenes to fit the new base size by right clicking them and selecting "Fit to screen", or resize them as you wish in Edit Scene mode.

Edit: Ah, sorry about that, dodgepong, I didn't see your post before I clicked reply. ;D

You might want to drop down to 30 frames per second. Like I mentioned before, your video card is rather slow, which is most likely the cause of all the lagged frames in the log.

It's a shame really, i mean your CPU is really good for streaming. If you don't mind me asking is it a laptop 630 or a desktop verison ? Plus if it's a desktop might try and get a GTX 660 or ti this will help you a lot, but also maybe try and turn your in-game settings down.

I lowered ingame settings to low as possible, which helped but was streaming 720p 30fps. If its possible will now try next step by step increase quality of the stream which same time won't affect ingame performance.

I have desktop and been thinking to upgrade but need to save more money :)

Er, wait, are you using both window capture and game capture on WoW? That's probably causing more strain on your system than it needs to.

He could just be using window capture for something else. But if they both are capturing the game, then yea, that would be bad.

hold on, have no idea what you talking about :)

sorry for late reply

edit: I have in sources two different stuff, this game capture and basic window capture but i am using only game capture. Does this basic capture still take cpu etc from my computer? i doubt
