Question / Help Having OBS open without recording//streaming causes game lag

Not sure what to do tbh I've had this issue for a while. When I have OBS open I get like 250fps but when it's closed I get 600+.
PC Specs
CPU: AMD FX 8350
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1050 ti
Ram: 8gb DDR3
Monitors: 144hz monitor and 60hz monitor
