Having a lot of difficulty getting started... Please help!!!!!

Hi... I'm preparing to launch a channel on twitch, and I have one question, and it's an important one, that I can find no video and no person willing to answer it, and I'm getting desperate. I've watched twenty videos on youtube and purchased two Udemy courses, none of which seem to have the willingness to answer. I've been trying to add my phone as a secondary camera on twitch, and no matter what I do, and I can't get OBS on my laptop to recognize my phone as a camera. How do I do this? I've downloaded the VDO.NINJA thing, and followed all the instructions, and my laptop OBS still won't recognize my phone. How do I do this? Can someone please just tell me?

then to add to that, be aware of the technical details (yes, required) of your network. For example, good security is to prevent certain wireless devices from talking to other local LAN clients. For example, Guest networks often by default are usually prevented from doing LAN traffic.
I mention this as the reason your setup may not be working is your WiFi network settings (on access point itself, not a client setting)
Oh, and your situation could be even worse if laptop is not Ethernet connected
And then there is the firewall settings on your laptop

The above amongst MANY reasons to not use WiFi if you don't absolutely have to. Once you understand WiFi, you realize why it is a total crapshoot in many (most?) consumer environments for a live video feed over WiFi to actually work (I'm not talking about watching a streamed video where client is doing significant buffering to overcome WiFi and Internet traffic 'issues')
Unless you have advanced networking knowledge and troubleshooting skills, *IF* you want a reliable setup, my advice is
- connect Laptop to Internet via Ethernet
- you could then setup a ad-hoc/direct WiFi from laptop to mobile device, but I still wouldn't (depending on environment)
- instead, get an Ethernet adapter for your mobile device (cell phone) and proceed from there
