Hey there,

My gaming rig is a i5-8600k with a RX 570. But I would like to stream from a second machine in order to get 1080/60fps. What would the minimum spec requirements be for that from a second pc? I have access to an i3-6100, and if I can be lucky in landing any Nvidia card with a recent version of Nvenc on it, would this be possible? Alternatively, I can always get a refurbished machine to stream from as well, seen some decent deals on i7-3770/i5-6400 systems.

You wouldn't really need a second system in order to stream with 1080p60fps bitrate 6000 (Twitch).

The RX 570 can do that without even losing any ingame performance, however the stream quality won't be as good as an nVidia card with NVENC.
Alternatively, you could try using Intels QuickSync from the 8600K and see if that results in similar or better quality.


If you are able to somehow get an nVidia card (with the current crazy prices) with the NVENC (new) codec on it that one alone should also perfectly suffice for 1080p60fps bitrate 6000 on Twitch and on YouTube it should also be able to handle up to a bitrate of 10.000.


You might be able to sell your RX 570 without a loss or even with a small profit to make up for the money you paid for an nVidia card.
Probably aim for an GTX 2060 or thereabout, but nothing slower than a GTX 1060 (equal to RX 570 performance wise) as that would then be slower than the RX 570.


Other than that, a second system would require a capture card first in order to receive the footage from your PC, and then you could probably just use x264 with the medium or even the slow preset, depending on the CPU, without the need of using a graphics card. (unless it has no integrated graphics)

I'd clarify that the Turing NVENC is the one recommended (or the newer Ampere, but others have said the NVENC improvements are minimal) so that means the GTX 1650 Super or higher model
