If you can see only that option is because you don't have an nVidia capable for enconding video card.
A log is required. Look in help menu.

Well, I have a gaming lappy.. MSI.. it's not bad, so for it not to have a simple encode seems odd.. but I'm with you.. is there a work around do you think, or have I just bought the wrong lappy? thanks

It seems I have it, but I need to enable it..

Hardware encoding has been available on Nvidia cards since early 2012, so if you have a modern Nvidia GPU, you can likely enable it.

But have no idea how to enable it.. any ideas PaiSand ?

Unfortunately, the laptop you bought is 10 generations old. It was only high-ish spec when it was new.

ok cool, thanks.. so moving forward, now I'm having to sell it, what spec graphics wise should I be looking for, so I don't make the same mistake again Harold? and thanks

Current generation laptops are in the 11xxx and 12xxx for intel based CPUs. Which type of CPU on a laptop (AMD vs Intel) matters less if you get a laptop with an RTX video card in it.
