Hello everybody,
I have 2 issues with obs. My rig is the following : R7 1700, RX550, 16 gigs ram, one standard HDD only for recording, avermedia HD2 capture card. The whole rig is dedicated to recording/streaming and only obs is runing on it.
I try to record 1080p60 on a dedicated HDD.
My first issue is H265 (AMD) never stops recording when i press stop. This issue is minor, i can record properly with H264, but i've read that h265 takes less space for the same quality at high quality settings.
My second issue regards smoothness of recorded files on large bitrate recordings.
For example, i can record 1080p60 at 25 000 bitrate on h264 or x264 with no problem, perfect 60fps. But when i go 30 000 bitrate or above, the video is all choppy and clearly not smooth at all. If i do that with x264 (CPU), OBS tells me that it's overloaded, or something like that, even if the CPU hit 30% usage max (it's a freaggin' 16 thread dedicated to encoding).
If i put the settings on constant quality, same thing if the quality is too high (16 and lower). It's sad because i would like to have a constant quality no matter the bitrate.
Sorry for the long post, thanks in advance.
