[GUIDE/TOOL] Grooveshark songs in OBS

Introduction:
So I made this program for a friend of mine, since he needed to get the song currently playing in Grooveshark into his OBS. And since I already made it I thought I would publish it to the rest of the world.

The program:

Important stuff:
Make sure you are in the OLD version of grooveshark, else it won't work. The old version of grooveshark can be found here: http://retro.grooveshark.com/

The status in the program indicates if the program is running or not. For example if there is something wrong, it will say "Stopped", but if everything is working as it should, it will say "Running".

The interval is how often in seconds the program should update the text file.

Chrome guide:
Step 1.
Get this plugin: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/tampermonkey/dhdgffkkebhmkfjojejmpbldmpobfkfo

Step 2.
Get this plugin for Tampermonkey: http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/93354

Step 3.
Download my program: http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?file_id=34377357723700369811 or here: http://www.mediafire.com/?vsgs34r716be129

Step 4.
Open the program and set it up as you want to. The interval is how long it waits between updating the text file. The prefix is what you want before the song name.

Make sure you are in the OLD version of grooveshark, you can go there by pressing the little settings button or by using this link: http://retro.grooveshark.com/

Step 5.
The program will now generate a text file called "song.txt". This text file will contain the song name and prefix you chose. You'll now go into OBS and add a Text and in "Add text from file", you will put the path of "song.txt".

Make sure the tap with grooveshark is always the tap you are on in Chrome. You can open multiple browsers and minimize it.

Firefox guide:
Step 1.
Get this plugin: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/greasemonkey/

Step 2.
Get this plugin for Greasemonkey: http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/93354

Step 3.
Download my program: http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?file_id=34377357723700369811 or here: http://www.mediafire.com/?vsgs34r716be129

Hi, great tool; however cant seem to get your program to actually start running and spit the text file out.

I followed the Chrome guide, and i see the script running but when I start up your program it just says its "stopped".

Any idea? Or am i doing something wrong.

Hi. I just tested this TOOL, and it works 100% fine with Firefox.
But with Chrome, probably because some update, it isn't working and it reports 'stopped'

I also tried to modified the script so my window title would appear %Artist - %Song (instead of %Song by %Artist).
But your program force me to have the word ' by ' in the middle or else it won't run.
So it would be nice if you could help me remove it so it wouldn't appear : ' %Artist by %song ' :(

Cheers

Sorry guys! I totally forgot I made this. :o

I just tested it on my pc in both Chrome and Firefox and it works perfectly fine! In chrome though, I had to turn Better Grooveshark on and off before it worked. But it could be something is different between my pc and yours, I don't know.

I will upload it to another mirror in a second.

When the program says "stopped" it is probably because the browser is not having the correct title or the right tab isn't focused.

I'm sorry to hi-jack OP's thread (or steal his users :/)

But
my program currently supports grooveshark as well (not grooveshark.retro, the new grooveshark)

Link

I'll remove this when OP comes up with a solution.

Edit: Approved by OP.

Awesome Azeirah. I made this a long time ago for a friend and just released it. I guess it just is outdated or something, people should rather use something updated.
