Should work great, however if you plan to use nvenc you need to compile obs with support for that yourself.
Tested both 1050TI / 1060 on linux here in stream pc, works great.
edit: Be wary of your needs tho, linux isnt as much supported as you'd think in regard to plugins etc.
Not only does it work with my 1080 it also works on my 660. Though I am not on LinuxMint didnt have patients to compile it myself seeing how ffmpeg is a PITA. Currently on Fedora 27 and it works out of the box for the most part. VLC 3.0 seems to be an issue with OBS.
