Question / Help GTA: San Andreas. STEAM version.

It's absolutely impossible to get this to work. I've tried everything. The supposed cure is to put it in Windows mode, which isn't a natural feature of the game.

I've downloaded CamHack 1.5 (which doesn't do anything but freeze, so, for all I know it's a virus), d3d9.dll (appears to have no effect when put in to GTA: SA's Steam folder). Nothing works.

I had it semi-working at one point but it just kept flickering and it was impossible to size it to the stream screen, it just took up a tiny portion of it.

So yeah, I have no idea. But I'd really like to get this working since it's excellent stream material for an i5-3210m w/ Intel HD 4000.

The Steam version of GTA: San Andreas is sadly broken, and you will want to downgrade it to version 1.01 (the latest version before it got added to Steam).

The Steam version (3.0, I believe) reports using a different texture format than it actually does, and it also doesn't support 16:9 resolutions. If you downgrade to 1.01, it'll work fine with Game Capture, and just about anything else.

I actually already downloaded a 1.01 version, but put it in the Steam folder. Should I put it in its own folder with d3d9.dll or just put it in its own folder, or what? I tried running it before and nothing worked.

I'm not sure what this d3d9 DLL you're talking about is.

San Andreas is a DirectX 9 game, you shouldn't be using any proxy DLLs for it. If you've downgraded to 1.01, Game Capture will work.
