Question / Help Green Screen appearing while streaming

hi all.

i need some help with my obs setting. when im streaming, there will be some green screening popping out now and then. how do i get the green thingy disappear? its irritating when streaming.

It's tough to make out anything in that video--other than a headache...

That said, my guess is that you're trying to stream through wireless, and that's usually a no-no. The green band looks like some kind of frame-loss/compression artifact that's showing up. Test it out with a wired connection and at a slower setting to see if that makes a difference.

so streaming with a wireless is a no no, understood. wireless meaning internet to laptop or device to laptop? right now im using airserver wireless to connect my android device to laptop. if its device to laptop, can advice how do i mirror to laptop directly.

Please understand I'm making some assumptions here based on what I've read in the past with others having issues transmitting a lot of video over wireless connections. That said, I can't tell you which one would be the issue, but you can probably figure it out / fix the issue a few different ways.

The process of elimination is a bit tedious, but it can help you narrow down where the issue is coming from. Here is what I would try, starting from what sounds easiest (to me), to most difficult, depending how difficult this issue is to reproduce.
  • You can:
    • One by one, move any wireless device further away from what it's connected to and see if the problem gets worse. Do this for ALL wireless devices (laptop, android, airserver, and router) because the issue could be a combination of these devices. This will at least tell you it is indeed a wireless issue. If more artifacts appear the further away the android device is, then that tells you something. Ideally, you always want to hard-wire as much as you can. I can't help you with this, google is your friend here.
    • Tweak the recording settings in OBS to either exacerbate or eliminate the issue. I would start with what the Auto-Configuration Wizard want to set things at. Then, things like the framerate, keyframe interval, etc can be adjusted to see what affects it the most.
Yes, it's a bit of a scavenger hunt, but you've got lots of variables in the equation and it's the only way I can imagine trying to find a root cause and narrowing down to what the issue really is. Good luck.
