Is this a new setup or it just started happening? How long have you had the card? I know Mac just received a security update and an update for the OS, have you downloaded new drivers for the Black magic? Sometimes when things are updated, whether it's OBS or the OS, video drivers, etc...things like this will happen. Sometimes you just have to wait for Black magic to patch the issue with an updated driver. How old is you mac?

Yeah it's a new set up as in the first time I'm trying to stream. I've used the Black Magic for 3 years recording gameplay no real issue. I downlaoded WireCast and it also displayed the video feed correctly, but they charge $600. There's very limited options to change within settings, and codecs or something simple that I am missing? Cheers for the reply.

How old is your Mac? And personally, i don't think the black magic is the best for streaming, but it still should work. But it Are you using your Mac for only streaming?

It's a 2012 iMac pretty decent. The best for it's time. I've used the Mac for recording and Editing YouTube videos for 2 years, handles that sort of work no dramas. It works fine for other programs just don't understand why not this one :/

Streaming is very CPU intensive and if you're using the one imac for game play and streaming, you will have issues. To stream and game play with decent performance and quality, you need at least an i7 3770k, about 8-12 gigs or more of ram, a pretty damn good GPU and good internet with an upload speed of at least 5-6 mbps. Unless you're using your mac solely as a streaming PC, then these specs may change a little.

Sorry I should have made that clear - I'm using an Xbox One for gaming - black magic for processing and video recording and iMac for the streaming part. The problem must be with the software if it works on other streaming programs right?

If you're speaking about the Black magic software, than yes. Your software and hardware have to match, especially when it comes to encoding and resolution. For example, make sure the resolution you're streaming at or down scaling to is the same as the Black magic settings in OBS. Meaning, click on the video capture card source in OBS and make sure your "Custom' resolution box is checked and matches your down scaling or streaming resolution. Also, make sure you're bitrate is not set too high for your upload speed. Meaning, if you have an upload speed of 6mbps, you can stream at 3500 but many people may not be able to see your stream at such a high bitrate, unless you're a twitch partner. I would recommend setting your bitrate to 2700 or 2800.
