Question / Help Graphics Driver Crashes

I have been having this issue with a select few games and it seems to be somewhat random in when it occurs.. anyway, I would like to know what this error is caused by as it may help in finding out what the issue is:

Is this just a generic error when the graphics driver crashes or could it be used to root cause my issues?

Cheers,

Already asked on other forums for advice and nobody could help so don't worry if you can't answer my problem, it's a very specific issue.. I am planning a platform upgrade in the near future to hopefully be done with this annoying issue once and for all.

What games does it tend to happen on?
Here's the log:

Error: Texture->Map failed: 0x887a0005 0x887a0007

Your video card or driver froze and was reset. Please check for possible hardware / driver issues. This error can also occur if you have enabled opencl in x264 custom settings.

My first memories of it happening were mainly in Far Cry 3. Funnily enough I played AC4 and it happened there also.. not whilst using OBS though. It was just a somewhat random crash, then driver restore. It was a very annoying experience although it caused AC4/FC3 to also crash.. so it was even more infuriating! Still completed those games.

Bit weird though, sometimes I could go for hours with no issue and then all of a sudden blamblamblam. Some people suggested it was caused by my Corsair Vengeance memory but if it was a memory issue I would have thought it would happen more consistently across all games?

The game I am playing at the moment that it's happening on is Star Conflict (F2P game). I find it weird because I assumed it was just an issue with the way Ubisoft's game engine was interacting with my hardware. It's funny because I run BF4 with no issues..

As an FYI the rig I'm running has an i7 2600K/GTX 680 in it with 16GB of Corsair Vengeance RAM. I also wondered if it may be a power issue as I've got a Corsair AX650 in this thing and thought perhaps it needed more juice, mainly because AC4/FC3 were quite happy to push my graphics card to it's potential... but SC isn't a really demanding game when compared with, say, War Thunder Ground Forces.. which really makes my system it's bitch in it's current iteration (I think due to lack of optimisation).

As you can see, I'm pretty confused on the issue.
