Question / Help Grand Theft Auto Vice City not comparable with OBS?

Hello,
Today I tried doing a quick transition to play GTA:VC and when I went to add source/game capture/gta vc I got nothing but a black screen. When I do a monitor capture I see everything fine but the only down side is that I drop thousands of frames and my fps go below 20. I remember having a issue like this in the past and having to use Xsplit but I don't have xsplit nor do I want it. If anyone could help that would be great.

Game Capture only supports OpenGL and DirectX 9 or higher games. Vice City uses DirectX 8 and can thus not be captured using the Game Capture source.

Options available at the moment are using a capture card, using DXtory, or using monitor capture in Windows 8. (Or Window capture, if you're playing at your full Windows resolution. Windows 8 pushes fullscreen native resolution DirectX 8 games to either windowed or fullscreen windowed mode.)
