Question / Help GPU usage drops when OBS is recording, streaming, preview.

When I play a game without OBS operating, then my game resolution is great. When I open OBS and either preview, record, or stream, then after a few minutes my game gets blurry, kinda pixelated looking. The crispness is just not there, and my GPU usage goes from 80-95% down to 40-55%. My CPU goes from about 40-50% up to about 55-65%.

I7 4770k
16gb ram
Gtx 970
