GPU Encoder (Somehow) Overloaded

Hi. I stream art sometimes, but I don’t stream games. Everything was fine for a while, but suddenly, my stream feed started looking extremely choppy with frequent buffering on the platform. The log and Task Manager report that my GPU encoder is nearly at 100%, even though I’m not doing anything GPU-intensive and my hardware should be perfectly capable. This wasn’t happening two weeks ago, and I haven’t changed any software settings since.

Some suggestions:

Fix your Scenes, both are bugged with multiple Display, Game and/or Window Captures. Only (1) per Scene to avoid interference.

You have some rendering lag & rendering lag is GPU overload. To save resources, only run only the monitor that you are capturing from at high refresh rates. Set the other (2) to 60HZ.

Sample rate mis-match should be addressed.
12:48:07.186: WASAPI: Device 'SteelSeries Sonar - Microphone (SteelSeries Sonar Virtual Audio Device)' [48000 Hz] initialized (source: Mic/Aux)
12:48:07.207: WASAPI: Device 'SteelSeries Sonar - Gaming (SteelSeries Sonar Virtual Audio Device)' [96000 Hz] initialized (source: Desktop Audio)

Run another test after making the changes, see if there's improvement. Your encoding settings should not be causing lag so see if that improves with the next test. Might need to test with HAGS disabled.

OBS has been reinstalled and all config files have been deleted and set up again from scratch. Scenes have been set up with only one Game Capture and Display Capture present maximum. There are still multiple Window Captures and Browser sources.

The mismatched audio sample rates cannot be addressed, as the Sonar - Gaming has no other options other than 96000 Hz and vice versa.

I left HAGS enabled.

After running another test stream, all seems to be working okay, with my GPU encode at 50% load on average.
