GPU crashing during streams

  • Everything worked fine on Wednesday 21st
  • No updates or changes made
  • Problems started on Friday 23rd
    • OBS would give the "Woops" OBS crashed pop-up
    • Rebooting OBS would prevent me going live because of "Cuda, Out of memory" pop-up
    • Game, Steeam and Discord would also crash (even task manager would crash and desktop wallpaper image would go to black)
    • PC would flicker and display would reboot several times.
  • I've updated my drivers, windows and OBS version (Stable), that hasn't helped
  • I've monitored my GPU usage, Video encoding doesn't exceed 20%, 3D has been about 60%, Temp doesn't go above 50%
I haven't downloaded anything shady, visited any questionable sites and have take care of my PC. No visible sag on the GPU.

This kind of GPU crash is some kind of hardware failure, if you already renewed the GPU drivers. Revert overclocking, check proper power supply and correct card seating, proper cooling (it's still hot summer on the northern hemisphere). If all is well, it might be your GPU hardware has become defective, especially if it never happened before, then started with one sudden event and happened ever since.
