Good voice processing - making a guide - collecting wishlists

Hi folks,
I've got OBS Studio 21.1.2 with the ASIO plugin running fine, so I'm confident enough to make a video about how to setup good voice processing.I am incredibly happy that OBS finally has decent VST plugin support and can bring in ASIO sources. No longer is it necessary to reroute your audio.

I'd like to make a video guide on how to properly setup your voice audio.

I do this for a living, mixing dialogue for film,tv and games, as well as lots of Youtube shows and live streams. Tip Of The Hats for example. Pros vs Community. TF2 Insomnia tournaments and lots of other stuff you probably never heard of.

You can check out my last previous community effort here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7DEvC47tvKc
That one contained a lot of noisy sources, but of course that's post production, not live sound. Nevertheless the challenges are similar. Some of my older stuff is on my little website at https://aironaudio.weebly.com

I've got a nice, crummy old modmic(one of the first from 2012 iirc) to test, though I also own a couple of professional mics, such as an SM58 and a KMR81 shotgun.

In the proposed video guides for OBS, I can cover equalization, compression and noise suppression(I'm quite curious to test OBS's built-in stuff and compare it to my professional tools). I can add noise to my mic input with a nice fan that can produce a little steady whine and lots of wind :) . And then try to get rid of it or improve it at least.

Getting a good voice sound often requires a light touch.

What would you like to see in such a video ?

I'd like to get as many perspectives covered as I can, because I might be too fast for some folks otherwise. I want this to be a useful resource.

Do you want me to cover more stuff such as microphone technology (dynamics, condenser, electret, lavs, shotguns, etc.), pop suppression, table stands, audio interfaces and the likes ? I'm open to such things.

show up on discord in #development channel; it's a better place to discuss such stuff than a forum. There's recently a sound engineer who showed up with proposals for improving the wizard with audio à la teamspeak.
(i'm the asio plugin dev btw with Andersama)

Thank you for the hint. I'll try to drop in and hopefully contribute in a useful manner. I've been mixing a lot these days, which is why making time for this is a little difficult.

lange vouched for you :)
do come back, i spotted your appearance on #dev; actually, you could have stayed on that channel especially since we're discussing a teamspeak like audio wizard. The advice and input of a good sound engineer would be a definite plus.
