I have an AMD FX8200 CPU, Radeon 280x GPU, 8gb of ram, I stream with downscaled 1280x720 2200 bitrate on a 10mbps connection, when not streaming I average 60+ frames no stutter on DOTA 2, when streaming I can barely play. Any suggestions? I use twitch as well...

The FX 8100 (which is what I think you are saying you have) is a little less than on par with the FX6300 CPU so not all that great.

Its decent for Just gaming, but not for gaming AND streaming.

Anway, post your logfile because that almost sounds like you might have some settings off.

Thats not really better. Once you overclock that thing close to 5GHz, this will help, but still - every i7 out there will outrun that CPU by a lot and the latest 6&8cores will double the performance even at stock speeds.

I always figured my CPU was the weak link, I am planning on upgrading mobo/CPU to an i5 4690K. Would that be a lot better? Do you think my GPU is OK for streaming/gaming at the same time?

its about the same as a slightly OCd 8320. Give me a sec and I'll look at the log

set your profile to main and dont stream over wireless. use a wired connection, this will help your ingame latency as well. wireless (no matter the connection speed) will always be horrible for streaming compared to wired.

I would try 720@30 instead. your bitrate is only 2200 so a 720@60 stream will look mediocre at that bitrate.
in the video tab, set the base resolution to 1920x1080 and downscale to 720 with bicubic filter.

change your game to full screen which could help a little bit.

with a 4GHz OC 720@60 stream just make sure your cores aren't parking which will also cause stuttering.

update your chipset with AMD's newest chipset and GPU drivers as well should be 15.12. The chipset might or might not help but I doubt it will hurt.

Also just so you know, do not use AMD driver uninstaller with your PC ever. it has been known to wipe the chipset drivers so just overwrite.

Thank you, I could afford to upgrade to the i7 4790K if that would be a bit better for multi tasking like this... Thoughts on that? Sadly with the positioning of my PC, using a wired connection is almost impossible, as the router is one story up and on the other side of the house... I will change those settings, upgrade my drivers and get back to you with results! Thanks so much

After changing the settings I still get 10-30 FPS in game, I think I'll just have to figure out a way to get a wired connection and upgrade my CPU eventually. Here is another log file https://gist.github.com/7d0dd7e7da1f794e5308 thank you for the help!

have you disabled the game DVR from the xbox app in windows 10? also you need to disable broadcasting in steam as well.

did you also make sure that your cores aren't parking?
