Question / Help go pro not showing up in OBS

Hi all,

I am using:
go pro hero 4 silver
startech video capture device.

when i try to connect using obs, i select video capture device. then i select my video capture card.

resolution / FPS type = custom
resolution 1280x720
fps 30

(ive also tried changing these to other options but these are the setting i have read online)

I cannot get the camera to show up in OBS. when i click on configure video i can see that obs is detecting a signal.

can anyone help me?

I've got a Hero8 and have been having the same issues.

Assuming you're connecting you HDMI capture device to your PC via USB, is the USB cable going into your PC directly, or via a USB hub? If it's the latter that may be your issue.

I fixed mine by going into a USB port on my PC directly. It didn't want to work when I connected it via a 4-way USB hub.

My GoPro Hero 10 just stopped being able to be initialized. It shows up as GoPro Webcam but no image. The way I fixed my issue is I opened up my GoPro in Zoom as it recognizes the camera and then went back and opened up OBS and now it works!
