Question / Help Getting Short Bouts of Micro Stutter any Thoughts? (Log Included)

So every so often I get a short stint of micro stutter in my recordings/streams. I've seen it happen in the recorded video when I was both streaming and recording at the same time, as well as when I am just recording. In my editing program it seems as though this micro stutter is present in the form of duplicate frames when analyzing frame by frame, so does the log give any hint to duplicate frames and/or some form of encoding/rendering lag? Thanks for your time.

In addition I have also uploaded an unlisted video that showcases the issue. I'm sure there are more instances than the 2 I spotted but do you guys think its normal to get micro stuttering/duplicate frames every so often? (I didnt feel like editing it so the 2 examples are at 9:10 & 18:28 be sure to play it at 720p60 otherwise the issue is not visible)

So I am still hoping someone with a bit more experience can look into the log file and potentially check out the example video timestamps to see if this problem is something they recognize. However, I have done some further testing.

I tried recording 2 matches (my previous testing scenario) but instead of using OBS I used my Capture Cards Software which is the Avermedia Rec Central 4 (I use the Live Gamer 4k) and it was completely flawless, not a single stutter once during the almost 20 minute test. Its worth mentioning that I used full 1440p 60fps for this recording (so twice as demanding as my OBS Studio test which was at 720p 60fps)

So it seems there is something going on in OBS Studio that is causing this stuttering, which again appears in the form of Duplicate Frames. However I'm not sure on what end this is happening, is it settings, is it a bug, or is it something totally different?

It is also worth mentioning that I tried using 2 different storage drives for my tests, I normally use my 3TB HDD but during one test of 2 games I used my 1TB HDD (which I think has a faster read/write than my 3TB) and then used my SSD for 2 different Games. In both tests the stuttering was still there but how often it appeared as well as the severity of the stutter seemed to lessen 1st when I went to the 1TB and then again even more so when I went to the SSD. However, it never completely vanished like it did during the Rec Central 4 Software recording, and I was even using the 1TB HDD for storage during that test recording which is only the second best result from previous tests...

So that leads me to believe that OBS Studio is somehow causing this issue to manifest, so with all of that, any thoughts?

So I believe I may have fixed the issue I'll leave this here in case anyone ever comes across this. I haven't done multiple long recordings yet but I just got done my first 1+ hour session and I haven't seen any micro stutter, and if there is any it is so negligible it doesn't matter. At this point I think I am just seeing it since I was so paranoid about it in the past, but I truly do believe it to be gone.

Essentially I just "enabled" buffer in my Avermedia Live Gamer 4k Properties, the default value is set to "Auto" and I believe it is when it decided to switch to "disabled" during that auto sequence that it caused my issue. If you are having issues with your Avermedia Live Gamer 4k stuttering first try and record in Rec Central 4 and see if it is present there, if it is it may be the card or your drivers (GPU, Motherboard Chipset, PCIE Lane, etc) also ensure that you are not dropping frames due to render or encoding lag, which can be found in your logs or in real time by pulling up the stats window in OBS Studio. If you aren't dropping frames due to rendering or encoding lag and the stutter is not present in Rec Central 4 recordings try enabling buffer in the properties of your capture card in obs studio and see if that solves your problem. I would say it is completely fixed from what I can see, and if not then its 98% fixed, I'm sure that a little bit of stutter here and there is normal but not every 5-10 minutes like I was getting.

This also might help some elgato users as I think that the buffer setting applies to all capture cards, but you'd need to check that as well. Anyways, thanks for all the help guys, hopefully this thread helps someone down the road.

If anything changes or I see it again to a reasonable degree I will report back, if I don't then assume it works fine now.
