Getting reverb on recorded audio from video/audio capture (ClearClick Video2USB)

I just got a ClearClick VIdeo2USB device so that I can capture video from several old VHS tapes containing projects I did in college. I have followed the instructions provided on the website. I know the audio is clean on the tapes, and when I monitor it in the OBS interface, it is clean. But when I record, the audio on the MP4 contains reverb/echo that was NOT on the original. I have not changed any settings. I do NOT have the Monitor on when I record. This is very frustrating to me, as I need a good (as good as it can be) digital copy of these videos. At this point, I'm getting pretty angry. Please help if you have any ideas.

I have the same issue as "daveflan" ... echo / reverb on audio when using my new ClearClick device to convert VHS tapes. I suspect there is an audio mixer setting to deploy so please tech support respond at your earliest.

DaveFlan,

I resolved by turning down the audio volume meters except for Video Capture Device. This resolved the echo reverb problem.

And what did you turn it down to? You used the Mic/Aux slider adjacent to the sound icon, right? It's default is 0.0 dB so it's odd that it's producing an echo reverb. I've been having the same issue while recording my LDs.
