I've been trying to set this up for the past hour now... I've gone off of guides on Reddit and posts on the forums here, but no matter what I try, every time, whenever I try to Start/Preview Stream, nothing happens and if I click in the window again it just says it's "Not Responding".

Here is the log file from my last attempt:

I'm running on a Lenovo Ideapad Y580, 1920x1080p res screen, i7 3630qm 2.4ghz processor, GTX 660m graphics, Windows 8. Yes, I have already tried to force the program to use my GTX 660m card from the Nvidia control panel. I might have done it wrong though (OBS didn't come up when it searched for applications on my computer, so I had to manually select the file and I may have selected the wrong file.)

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Re: Get "Not Responding" every time I try to start/preview..

Could you first try out the latest test build with this as well? Though actually now that I think about it, it may not help with this.

Do you have any other applications running on your computer such as teamspeak/mumble/etc? Their overlays can often interfere with OBS and such, as well as graphical enhancement tools.

Otherwise, I may need you to create a dump via task manager while it's frozen, right click the OBS process in task manager (ctrl-shift-escape), and create a dump, compress it, and try to find some way to send that dump to me/us.

Re: Get "Not Responding" every time I try to start/preview..

I did have Skype going for the first hour but I turned that off and it still did the same thing.

However I just tried it now randomly at it seems to be working... I'm getting a black screen for the preview (I'm assuming that has something to do with my laptop's Optimus) but it's working now so that's all I care about. I can fix the black screen tomorrow. I guess I just needed to restart my computer after installing hahaha always the simple stuff that gets overlooked...

Just curious, which exact file do I specify to be started with my GTX graphics card in the Nvidia control panel? I just want to make sure I'm specifying the right file so that OBS is actually being started with the GTX graphics card... As I said earlier, OBS isn't in the dropdown menu of programs there, so I had to manually add the file, and I don't know if I specified the right one (I'm a noob to this stuff). Right now, I have the obs.exe [in c:\program files (x86)\obs\] file selected to start with the GTX card. Please let me know if that is the right file, or if I need to specify a different one.

I will keep you updated on whether or not OBS continues to work, and all that was needed was a restart so if someone else has the same problem, you at least have something to start with.
