First off I apologize for this OT questions but... what is the purpose of doing a live broadcast for your desktop or game? I mean is it significantly better than just recording a local file then uploading it?

Live broadcasts let people watch what's happening live, and the broadcaster can interact with viewers who are watching.

If all you're doing is making solitary recordings destined for YouTube, then no, there's no benefit to broadcasting them.

killer. I suppose you could just set up a webcam or video camera and have your own web show that way! Guess I was thinking just desktop and gaming streaming but that would be cool too.
