Question / Help General Feature Suggestions

Here are a few general suggestions for any developer bored of bug fixes, compatibility testing, and general diagnostics.

My personal list:
  • UNDO - CNTL + Z PLEASE!!! Nothing is worse than accidently mouse clicking something and moving or resizing or via the gui over the preview...
  • Pixel Tester - Would be great to have a button that slowly runs through a list of colors to easily test Graphic Designers building UI Layers to see gaps n such
  • Zoom - Transform and Snap are great ways to see little things on high resolutions
  • Panel Dropdown/Hide - Ability to Hide or have the Panel drop like Start menu on Windows dock/taskbar
These are interface styles directly from another open source program GIMP that if implemented to OBS would be LEGIT ^_^
  • Layer Folders - Source Folders would be great for Streamers using raw files like TwitchAlerts or multiple browser layers. If a Streamer needs to make a layer inbetween his game and his alerts they must scroll almost to the bottom.
  • Single-Windowed Mode & Panel Mode - This one is HUGE for me. Panel Mode would allow Scenes, Sources, Mixer, Transition, & Preview in separate windows. This would be great for streamers with 2 or 3 displays.
  • Snap Panels - Requires panels to be opened in separate windows, but would allow users to pull a panel out of the program to its own separate windows. Also allows panels to be combined in separate windows and panels locations to be moved within the main applications window.
In no way, shape, or form are these complaints. I recently just started gaming again and am new to the whole twitch scene but LOVE obs-studio so far! Can't wait to open up the code and see if there's anyway for me to contribute. Thanks everyone for your time!

Most of these suggestions are on the list of future features already, though some weren't. Can't guarantee they'll all end up on there but I'll see what I can do.

no worries. just ideas. I'd love to checkout the code, couldnt find any info in the readme or forums in the guide section on preferred IDE for c by the obs team. Cant remember the one I use on Ubuntu but usually do most c on windows with visual studio. What IDE is suggested?

Oyea another Feature Idea, refresh button for all the layers to refresh their source file or link. Sometimes when I export from GIMP to image or tweak TwitchAlerts CSS code have to open properties, click the url/dir field, and click enter. Would suggest adding it be Exit. Settings, etc but think I would use a shortcut like CNTL + R more. Sorry, haven't had time
