Question / Help GeForce 920M which is kepler architecture is not showing nvenc on windows

I have Nvidia Geforce 920M Graphics card codename GK208 and the driver version is 431.25 but my OBS is only showing Quicksync and x264 as encoders. The GPU-Z info is https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/geforce-920m.c2646

Is GeForce 920M is not supported and if it is then why Kepler is showing as supported here https://developer.nvidia.com/nvidia-video-codec-sdk

My OBS can detect the Nvidia Card though as attached in the logs https://obsproject.com/logs/YVrbQYl9qELFkC5W

From the mobile Nvidia 900M GPUs, only the GTX models support Nvenc. The Geforce 920M is no GTX card.

920M while not being a GTX have GK208 chip which should have NVDEC that supports decoding and encoding MPEG-2VC-1 and H.264 (AVCHD).

I have one of these under install now and will be testing.

Yeah.
Just did more research. And read that matrix.

It's not about GT or GTX. On some chips they just left the encoding/decoding out. 920M is unfortunately one of these.

Correct, the chipset lacks the NVENC circuit. There's some unicorn GPU's that are floating around, can't remember the exact model but they were built on the wrong chipset that did include NVENC.

The other issue is the driver, current versions of OBS require something like v531.xx. The latest driver available for that model is 425.31 so even if there was NVENC available, I think OBS v27.2.4 would be the last version that would actually work.
