Well, have I ever gone round and round with this one. Sources feeding HDMI to a USB 3.0 device, there are dozens of these devices out there. OBS Video is superb. Audio is set in latest Windows 11 Sound Settings as Digital Audio Interface (USB Digital Audio), Sound Properties shows Format of 1 channel, 96khz, and is superb 2 channel stereo for most sources. There are two sources, however, that, with all settings the same for Windows 11 and OBS, deliver a garbled static. In attempting to find out why, I have found, on this forum and others, several advisories that basically reiterate the Settings that I already have set. Make sure you've got 48kHz and not 44kHz, etc. On another tack, some have advised that the two garbled sources may be something called WDM ASIO. Well, my Dell 7773 has RealTek ASIO installed. I haven't been able to ascertain from hours of forum research and software tries what exactly ASIO is, and whether or not its already functioning in the majority of sources that deliver superb sound. A software product called ASIO Pro shows the RealTek ASIO being recognized, but no amount of fooling around with ASIO Pro has resulted in any kind of difference...,when choosing the ASIO Pro source in OBS, I simply get no sound at all, so I don't apparently have it patched to the USB Digital Audio, and haven't been able to find a dialog in Windows 11 that will let me do that. There's another ASIO software available on GitHub which I have seen mentioned on this forum, however I've also seen some note that the latest OBS version(s) are not compatible with that. Forum entries that note that OBS is not capable of processing ASIO also date to over a year ago, so there's not much that's fresh on that. So...is anyone else getting garbled static from [a*****] and [d*****+] sources? Does anyone know whether all 1 channel 96khz to 2 channel 48khz are common (ASIO)? I should note that after installing the ASIO Pro, I have two Formats available for Digital Audio Interface (USB Digital Audio). One is "1 channel, 16 bit, 96000 HZ", the other is "1 channel, 16 bit, 96000 HZ (Studio Quality)". Neither work for the two garbled sources. I mention this because I've also seen it noted in this forum that ASIO WDM is designed for "Studio Quality" sources. Any enlightenment would be appreciated, including similar experience with the garbled audio.
