Games stuttering

Hi,

I stream to Twitch and seem to be having difficulties when trying to stream games such as Call of Duty, Red Dead Redemption 2, Assassin's Creed Valhalla.

There are no issues whatsoever on my screen, the games run fine. But when streaming to OBS, the games stutter and lag. It's making it hard for me to stream when people don't want to see bad quality streams.

My base resolution is not set at my native resolution for my monitor and I'm wondering whether this may be an issue?

I've attached my settings.

Firstly you're better off attaching a stream log, helps those that could help, potentially diagnose any issues.

Your settings seem fine at a glance, with the exception of your native resolution, you really should be using that as your base canvas. Your rig should be fine to handle streaming with those settings but without looking at the log it'd just be generic advise.

1) Ensure your GPU is not maxed out on load. You need an overhead of around 10% (90% load) to save GPU resources to allow fluid rendering without frame drops/skips. I personally ensure my load doesn't go above 80% , allows for any spikes, congestion ingame etc.
2) IF the above is happening, then Enable Frame rate Cap ingame to your monitors refresh and/or enable vsync.
3) IF 2 is still yielding same GPU load, then reduce frame rate cap and/or reduce ingame settings to alleviate load
4) Place OBS on High Priority, through settings > advanced > Priority (can do the same in task manager / process lasso)

You , me and countless other people have this stuttering issue. I have tried eeeeeeeeeeeeverything. Lowering setting in OBS to minimum of minimum. Ryzen 9 5900X, RTX 2080 Super. Tried very fast X264, new Nvenc with less than 50% total GPU usage. various refresh rates, frame caps and bla, bla, bla.
Bottom line is....OBS is just a pile of amateur garbage code. And that is the problem with open source. When every code monkey who thinks he can code messes with it. Just a bunch of people introducing bugs, and other bunch fixing them while introducing new bugs.
