Hello,

I have Win10 and I played and recorded Bad Company 2 (MP) and it suddenly froze (this game tends to cause freezes for some reason), my whole PC froze and nothing worked not even trying to open the task manager so now after the hard restart I had to do the recorded gameplay footage has issues and when I open it it plays a few frames and then there is a wierd looping sound and it just freezes the whole PC all over again..

heres the log file :
https://gist.github.com/b75e992d8b8adbef3b8e6a23e41d5dcc

is there any way I can get my recorded footage to work properly or is it lost forever? (had a really rare & nice game unfortunately this happened..)

there were no crash dump log files in the "CrashDump" folder.

For local recording, set your buffer size to 0.

But as to your file when your PC froze, if you were saving as mp4 and not flv, then its probably gone. :(

This is why the guides say to save as .flv and then convert to .mp4 if you need to afterwards.

Do other .FLVs you saved work? Can you change it to mp4 and does it work then?

WELL GUESS WHAT?!?!?!?! ive some good news ! :) YESSSSSSSSSSS !!!!! the footage works now ! its not lost !! :) :) :)
THANK GOD !

dont know if it works ok on my PC...BUT ! I gave it a try on YouTube and I just uploaded it even tho I was pretty damn sure it is going to fail or have some really weird sound issues or something of that nature...but it worked ! I was surprised to see it finished uploading it and all of the footage is there working just fine with its audio+video all running ok without issues ! phew !

I really thought this game I had was lost forever !

if anyone else have a similar problem like I had with my video then they can try to upload it to youtube like I did and the good luck may be on their side but ofcourse it depends on the exact circumstances of the video if its flv or not etc, some videos may trully be lost and corrupted unfortunately.

also everything I tried so far didnt work like trying to import it to premiere so i can export it in a different format..
it caused the program to halt..it did not respond and I also tried to convert my footage to mp4 or other formats on
a files converter site...that didnt work either..and it said there was a problem with the upload..
luckily enough YouTube litterrally fixed my apparently corrupted video thanks YouTube ! you saved my vid.

Edit : BTW heres the video gameplay in case anyone is curious to see :
(it uploaded it perfectly so it also even has the full HD 1080p 60FPS quality mode)

Play the video on your own risk tho.
update : well it seems that the whole video runs perfectly fine except for the end part where the game froze..
it also makes youtube's player make weird sounds of error or something and I need to cut out that part.

If it is FLV, try to remux. Can be done with OBS Studio's file menu, or with a specific ffmpeg command i forgot.
