Question / Help Game sound muted when recording mic audio?

New to OBS and I've got everything setup OK (video quality is great!) except for one thing, my game audio only records OK when my mic channel is muted, as soon as I un-mute the mic channel my game audio pretty much mutes itself? I've added the latest log file, not sure if it's of any use.

OBS 20.0.1

Windows 10 Home 64

Here's a few of my audio settings:

I've literally just fixed it I think, I had the game audio set to Track 1 and the Mic audio set to track 2, and for some unkown reason when playing the captured video file in Windows Media Player it only plays the audio from track 2 (which was the Mic)?!

I've now just swapped the Mic to Track 1 and the Game to Track 2 and the captured video file plays fine in Windows Media Player and just plays the game audio and not the Mic audio (which is fine for me as it kind of makes more sense to me that way).

Worth noting that even how I originally had it set up (Game audio Track 1 - Mic Audio Track 2), VLC media player plays both audio tracks and the video at the same time and both tracks did appear and work in Vegas Pro.

So basically both audio tracks were always there, it's just that Windows Media Player won't play Track 1 as default.

Media players generally don't play multiple audio tracks simultaneously, they play one at a time and you switch between them. Same reason a movie with multiple audio tracks for different languages doesn't play them back all at once. That said, WMP is pretty crap so using a better alternative like MPC-HC or VLC is always advised.

Haha thanks, yeah I just figured that out lol I'm pretty new to game capture, I've always used ShadowPlay which kind of does it all for you but I want something a bit better now that gives me more control over everything, especially audio, so OBS seems perfect now that I have it set up a bit better!
