Question / Help Game Recordings Are Choppy - Good PC and Good Settings Selected - Whats Wrong?

Hey,

So I got a new PC yesterday, and installed OBS and watched a tutorial video on what settings to use etc..

But when setting these the recorded gameplay is just choppy, the game runs perfectly fine.

any ideas what i need to do? new to PC gaming/recording, used to just use elgato on PS4.

Don't use the max quality NVENC preset.

Don't use CBR for recording, that's for streaming. Use CQP rate control and a quality setting between 14 (high quality) and 23 (good quality).

If you don't need multitrack audio, don't use advanced output mode, use simple output mode, indistinguishable quality, large file size.
