Game Plays Fine but OBS Preview Lags?

I'm new to OBS (currently using SLOBS but I want to try a new program). I'm having trouble streaming some more beefy games like Apex Legends, for example. The game runs and looks fine. I open OBS and the game looks fine on my second monitor, but right when I click into the actual game on my main monitor (which still runs fine) the preview on OBS stutters and lags immensely.

I've lowered my bitrate, changed to 30FPS, down to 720p, lowered the texture streaming budget, and went the other normal routes. Here are the stats when I click on the game itself but the game in OBS still stutters (below).

I would appreciate any insight!

Update Windows, your version is End of Life and not supported
Run OBS as Administrator
Do not put Game and Display Capture sources in the same scene They will cause conflicts, lag, etc

Run a short stream or recording session and post a new log

Honestly I'm trying to update my Windows, but I keep getting an error. This has been happening for a while now and I'm not really sure why...

I'll try your other suggestions in the meantime.
